Milestone 3 DONE!

Thursday night, while eating dinner at Slidin' Thru, I got the official word from Dr Petti that she approved my dissertation proposal. YAY!

It was emotional. I was thrilled! I felt like a could see the light at the end of the tunnel! Dissertation felt do-able! I was all alone and wanted to scream and hug someone. I had no one to hug. That made me sad. Then the emotions really started. Don't cry in public! So happy! Such a relief! Sad that I can't share with my family!

So next two milestones require a lot of wait time from me. Milestone #4 is committee approval. They have until the end of January. Milestone #5 is SOE approval. I assume they will take most of February. Then Milestone #6 is IRB approval. I can start working on the paperwork but I can't submit yet.

It's easily going to be March before I get to start research.
